Safety in Albania is ok. There is crime, but gangster crime like in the US. So if you are not gangster you will be safe, no target of the crime. I think it is really cool to visit. I have lived in Tirana until 26, and I still visit 3 times per year. Is it worth getting a mobile hotspot or is WiFi prevelant enough? I'd imagine it won't take a whole week to see everywhere in Tirana. My thought was 2-3 days in the city and then the rest in a resort in the countryside.
